Great Basin National Park
I was lucky to get a chance to drive out to Great Basin National Park in Nevada. I took the trail out to the only glacier in Nevada. The trail starts in an area that is tree covered landscape. That quickly changes as you make your way out to a Bristle Cone forest and witness trees that are thousands of years old. It doesn't take long before you are above the tree line all together.
At this point in the trail you start to make the turn out to the basin where you stand below Wheeler Peak and the glacier that is working it's way down the mountain.
